Culture: Our recommendations around Semmering, Rax and Bucklige Welt

We live in a region steeped in culture and history – and this is still evident today. Artists such as Arthur Schnitzler, Johannes Brahms and Adalbert Stifter were inspired by the picturesque mountain scenery here and created parts of their work. A stay at the Feigenterrasse can be wonderfully combined with cultural experiences. Here are a few personal recommendations.

We love Kultur.Sommer.Semmering because of its diversity and the truly great artists who perform here. We are particularly looking forward to Gerti Drassl, Michael Maertens and Daniel Keberle, who will be performing Schnitzler at the Panhans in 2026. Distance from Feigenterrasse: just under 20 minutes.

Reichenau Festival 2026

The Reichenau Festival is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and is a major fixture in our cultural calendar. The atmosphere is fantastic and the quality of the performances is outstanding. The Reichenau Theatre is only 15 minutes away from Feigenterrasse.

Anniversary year 2026 in the Semmering–Rax region

This year marks several important anniversaries in our region: the Höllentalbahn railway is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

The train runs up to 8 times a day.
Three times a day, guided tours of the electrical substation or the vehicle depot take place at both terminus stations.
